VISIOPET® 0.3% Eye Drops, Solution
For use in the eyes
Active Ingredient:
Each 1 mL contains 5 mg gentamicin sulfate (fish peptone) (equivalent to 3 mg gentamicin)
Inactive Ingredients:
Disodium phosphate dihydrate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, benzalkonium chloride, sodium chloride, sodium metabisulfite (E223), sodium hydroxide, water for injection.
1. What is VISIOPET and what is it used for?
VISIOPET contains gentamicin, an aminoglycoside antibiotic.
It is used to treat infections of the eyes caused by certain organisms and to prevent infection after trauma to the eyes.
It is a clear, colorless to slightly yellow solution provided in a 5 mL dropper bottle.
It is used topically.
2. What should you know before using VISIOPET?
Do NOT use VISIOPET if:

You are allergic to gentamicin or any of the excipients.
Use VISIOPET with caution if:

If your pet has a severe infection, your veterinarian will likely add a systemic (bloodstream) antibiotic treatment to the topical gentamicin.

If you are using any other aminoglycoside antibiotics, inform your veterinarian.

Avoid long-term Visiopet treatment.
3. How to use VISIOPET?
1–2 drops in the affected eye(s) up to 6 times daily (more frequently in severe infections).
Reduce frequency as the infection improves.
Application instructions:

Wash hands before use.

Do not let the dropper tip touch any surface, including eye.

Once opened, the bottle must be used within 15 days.
If you miss a dose:
Apply as soon as you remember. If it’s close to the next dose, skip the missed one. Do not double dose.
Storage Conditions

Store below 30°C (86°F).

Keep out of reach of children.

Use within 15 days of opening.
-
Do not use past the expiration date.
-
Do not dispose of via household waste—use appropriate collection systems.
